Cloud · Architecture and migration

Prepare the change before moving operations.

An architecture or migration decision affects applications, data, access and teams. We evaluate alternatives with their dependencies and costs to define a transition that can be reviewed before it is carried out.

Choose with business context.

We start with workloads, their criticality, current capacity and what needs to change. Migration is not proposed by default. We assess whether to adjust the architecture, move workloads or consider another provider according to operational objectives.

Make dependencies visible.

The proposal considers costs, capacity, access, integrations, testing and go-live. Applications and data are reviewed alongside the systems that depend on them. Identifying these relationships helps establish what must be ready and who participates in each decision.

  • Alternatives and their operational implications.
  • Dependencies, access and responsibilities.
  • Change windows and an implementation plan.

Prepare the transition with IT.

Permissions, approvals and acceptance criteria are agreed before intervention. Documentation and existing knowledge of the environment help define the work. If a provider changes, its responsibilities and outstanding items affecting the transition must also be reviewed.

Test what needs to keep working.

Tests are defined around the workloads and integrations included in the proposal. Acceptance needs to verify the agreed functionality, not simply the existence of infrastructure at the destination. Go-live and handover are specified with the environment’s owners.

Separate the change from its management.

The implementation plan documents the contracted work. Ongoing operation of the resulting environment requires separate agreement on management, operating hours and support levels. We do not promise an interruption-free transition or compatibility without reviewing the systems involved.

Questions before we begin

Is migration always the best option?

No. We first evaluate the environment and objectives. Migration is proposed when it makes operational sense; alternatives should explain their implications and dependencies.

Can you support a change of provider?

Yes. We review responsibilities, access, documentation and outstanding items. The proposal defines what KaiOne will take on and the conditions needed to carry out the transition.

How is the timeline agreed?

It considers scope, information, access, testing and timely decisions from both parties. Change windows are coordinated with IT and operations within the proposal.
